Magic Tea House blends live performance, robotics and state-of-the-art audio and visual technology, immersing the audience in a magical tale about the history and heritage of Cantonese opera. The drama is about a young musician returns to the family’s Qing-era ancestral home and discovers a lost trove of Cantonese opera treasures that once belonged to a great-grandparent. A dream-like encounter with the ancestor’s spirit offers a new perspective on the significance of the traditional art, showcasing the diversity of the Cantonese opera experience. The Programme is part of “Creative Tomorrow” exclusively sponsored by The Hong Kong Jockey Club. |
