Established in 1901, Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong is a major International Non-Government Charitable Organization in Hong Kong providing a spectrum of services for the betterment of the Hong Kong people in particular the poor and needy with a special focus to assist and empower the youth in Hong Kong to develop a holistic character with a passion to serve and contribute to the community in the spirit of the teachings of Jesus Christ and the Holy Bible: “To serve, not to be served”. The Association is now looking for high caliber candidates to fill the following position:

Service Head
(Youth Leadership, International & Mainland Affairs Service)

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and supervise the respective In-Charges of the University & College YMCA Department and International & Mainland Affairs Department
  • Directly report to the Assistant General Secretary, assist in formulating the strategic plan to enhance, develop and implement the services of these 2 departments
  • Explore and expand the networks and build a positive business relationships with relevant government bodies, NGOs, universities, foundations, external strategic partners, business sectors, overseas parties or relevant stakeholders to facilitate the achievement of the above roles and responsibilities
  • Plan and formulate relevant service policies, and implement the best practices of such service delivery
  • Liaise with other service units to drive, initiate and launch the association-wide programmes
  • Oversee the budget, financial management and workforce planning of these 2 departments

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, Communication Studies and International Relations or a related discipline. A master’s degree is preferable
  • At least 3 years’ management experience in a relevant role/sector
  • Strong leadership, strategic planning and exploration of resources in leadership training
  • Strong liaison and connecting skills
  • Good knowledge in conducting and organizing international programmes, especially in networking with overseas parties
  • Excellent command of spoken and written Chinese and English, including Putonghua
  • Willing and able to travel as required
